Puggles are a cross between a quality Beagle female and a quality Pug male. Puggles have a slightly wrinkled face, black mask, and a short hair coat. Their height and weight will depend up on the size of the parents. The puggle combines some of the best attributes of both breeds. They have an even, mellow temperament and athleticism. This makes them a great house dog and a great playmate.

Remember that the parents of the dog play a vital role in the size and temperament of each puggle litter. Ask many questions about the parent dogs so you will know what to expect from your puppy.

Some Puggle insight from Karen: I do not claim to be an expert but I can share with you what my puggle, Ginger has taught me during the past year.

* Puggles do dig.

* Puggles can be litterbox trained as well as housetrained.

* Puggles at times have been known to bark and/or howl.

* Puggles will climb on the dining room table to get a paper napkin.

* Puggles will love their crate, especially if you give them a chewie.

* Puggles LOVE to swim in the swimming pool and will go without you so make sure they know how to use an air mattress.

* Puggles will lie quietly with you when you don't feel good.

* Puggles will get out all your child's stuffed animals while the kids are at school.

* Puggles can jump from the floor to the back of the couch without batting an eye.

* Puggles will fetch a ball but they really like to play keep away with the kids more.

* Puggles can do the perfect "what"? expression when caught on the dining room table.

* Puggles will stand beside the bathtub and encourage your two year old to pour them a glass of bath water on the floor.

* Puggles can and will take their own sweater off while outside no matter how cold it is.

* Puggles will do anything for a chewie.

* Puggles will chew kids toys and dad's baseball caps but not anything of mom's..Smart Dog!

* Puggles expect to be carried outside first thing in the morning to do their business.. after all they do run the household.

* Puggles enjoy licking water out of the dishwasher while you put up the dishes.

* Puggles will go every step with you as you put up clean laundry..but they would rather help you fold it. Allow three times as long to accomplish the folding as doing the putting up.

* Puggles can sleep through anything.

* And last but not least Puggles love everyone in the family unconditionally.
